Human Resources Manager

Mount Hermon Christian Conference Center is seeking an individual to fill the position of Human Resources Manager.  This person must be a mature follower of Jesus; still growing and developing in their faith; fully in accord with Mount Hermon's mission, vision, values and statement of beliefs; and of strong moral character and integrity.  Proven Human Resources (HR) training and expertise is essential. Must have a Bachelor's Degree, HR Certification, or commensurate experience.  Maturity and attention to detail is necessary and prior experience working with a camp or non-profit organization is beneficial.  Must be a team player with the ability to work well with others in the management and operation of Mount Hermon's Human Resources office. 

Responsibilities: Coordinate the day-to-day HR functions at all Mount Hermon Association, Inc. (MHA) facilities.  Promote a nurturing and productive environment among MHA staff.  Advise the Chief Operating Officer on HR plans, budgets, procedures, compliance with HR Law, and other issues.  Other duties include ensuring MHA remains in compliance with federal, state and local employment law, administering employee benefit programs, coordinating job related training, and supervising human resources staff.  View job description

Redwood Canopy Tours - Guide Staff

The Redwood Canopy Tours at Mount Hermon is accepting applications for assistant canopy tour guides. Candidates must be fully in accord with Mount Hermon's ministry, and of strong moral character and integirty. The ideal candidate will be someone familiar with adventure/recreation and or tourism with a strong background in customer service, attention to detail, and ability to multi-task. Fluent in english and spanish prefered. Applicants must attend and pass a 50 hour guide training prior to employment. Training dates to be announced. Attendance at all training dates is mandatory.

 

Responsibilities: Assist in leading canopy tours of guests with lead guides. Responsible for the safety of the participants, to deliver excellent tours with attention to guest needs. Adhere to all training and safety protocols at all times.

 

Position: Casual Part-time, non-exempt

Salary: Pay will be 75% of min. wage during training. $10/hr starting with raises based on performance and increasing levels of certification.

Schedule: Three to Four weekends each month at minimum. Mid-week hours will vary depending on the season.

Mandatory Training Dates: March 9-11, 16-18  Must be able to attend all training dates

Mount Hermon Adventures - Level 1 and Level 2 Adventure Facilitators

Mount Hermon Adventures is accepting applications for Level 1 and Level 2 adventure facilitators.  Level 1 and Level 2 facilitators serve our guests by providing quality experiences such as high and low ropes courses, paintball, archery, sea kayaking, surfing, biking and more.  Candidates must be fully in accord with Mount Hermon's ministry, and of strong moral character and integirty. The ideal candidate will be someone familiar with adventure/recreation and or tourism with a strong background in customer service, attention to detail, and ability to multi-task. Fluent in english and spanish prefered. Applicants must attend and pass all relevant training prior to employment. Attendance at all training dates is mandatory. 

 

Responsibilities: Lead a variety of programs for guests including but not limited to high and low challenge courses, painball, archery, sea kayaking, surfing, etc. Responsible for the safety of the participants, to deliver excellent programs with attention to guest needs. Adhere to all training and safety protocols at all times.

 

Position: Casual Part-time, non-exempt

Salary: Pay will be 75% of min. wage during training. $9-10/hr starting with raises based on performance and increasing levels of certification.

Schedule: Every Saturday, other days and hours vary depending on the season.

Mandatory Training Dates: February 25-26 AND March 3-4

Weekend Lifeguards for Summer 2012

Mount Hermon Christian Camps and Conference Center is accepting applications for summer 2012 scheduled and on call positions.  Candidates must be fully in accord with Mount Hermon's ministry, and of strong moral character and integrity.  Must exhibit responsible behavior, possess ministry skills and sensitivity to cross-cultural experiences, and demonstrate great interpersonal skills with people of all ages.  On Call Lifeguarding requies individuals who are observant and attentive, punctual and flexible.  Requires high level of independent judgment and initiative.  Must maintain excellent physical fitness.  

Qualifications include: current ARC Lifeguard Certification or equivalent, current ARC First Aid Certification or equivalent, current ARC CPR for the professional rescuer or equivalent.  Must demonstrate proficiency in all applicable lifesaving techniques.  Minimum age 16.

Responsibilities:  Prevent accidents and injuries in the pool area; provide and maintain a safe environment (physically, mentally, emotionally) respond appropriately to accidents and emergencies as trained; inform guests of pool rules and enforce those rules; and follow directions given by Aquatics Coordinator while on duty.  Inform Aquatics Coordinator of any badly operating equipment or facilities.  Inform Aquatics Coordinator at least 48 hours in advance if  late or unable to attend meetings, trainings, or shifts.  Must attend in-service training meetings and be willing to work in any weather conditions as directed by the Aquatics Coordinator.

Position:  Casual Part-time, non-exempt, no benefits
Salary:       $10+/hr depending on experience, availability, flexibility, and quality of work.
Schedule:  Sat and Sundays Memorial Day to Labor Day weekend; weekdays and non-summer, on call, flexible
