Volunteer Opportunities

eBay and Craigslist Posting Monitor

We’re seeking for a volunteer who would help us organize and sell items on eBay and Craigslist to further the Kingdom! Occasionally Mount Hermon has items it needs to sell or discard. We are looking for a volunteer who can evaluate items and do price comparisons, write a description of the items, and take pictures and post the items on Craig's List and eBay.  Follow-up with potential buyers and help us complete the transaction with the seller

Guest Greeters

Volunteers are needed to welcome and greet our guests when they first arrive at Mount Hermon, hand them information, maps, and answer general questions.

Skills and attributes needed: Ability to interact with a wide variety of people, outgoing and people oriented, capable of making guests feel welcome and appreciated, blessed with the spiritual gift of hospitality, familiar with Mount Hermon, and passionate about its minstry.

This is a fun opportunity that would allow volunteers to meet and interact with many people, building relationships with our guests and with each other.

Mail Room assistant

This volunteer will collect outgoing mail from several drop locations, apply postage if necessary, pick up incoming mail from the Post Office, and log incoming packages (UPS, FedEx, or U.S. Postal Service). Time needed: Once or twice a week, from 9:00am to 11:00am

Sewing volunteers

Volunteers are needed to sew curtains for our lodges and cabins. We are forming volunteer groups to serve once a month. This is a fun and easy activity. Mount Hermon will provide materials and training if needed. If you love sewing or would like to learn please join our corps of volunteers. Experience not needed.

On - call housekeepers

We are in need of on-call volunteer to support our Housekeeping Department.

The work needed is to clean rooms, vacuum, dust, change and launder sheets, clean bathrooms, and other general housekeeping duties.

These volunteers are most needed on Saturdays during summer time and during big “turnovers” between events.

No experience is necessary and we will provide training. Some personal knowledge of general housekeeping methods is helpful.

If you’re looking for a fun and productive exercise program, this is it!

Volunteer serving our volunteers

We’re seeking volunteers who will drive senior volunteers to the local hospital, doctor’s office, or medical center. These volunteers would provide transportation for those who no longer drive, are not comfortable driving themselves to their appointments, or whose children, relatives, neighbors and friends all work and are unable to transport them.

If you desire to demonstrate your care for the Mount Hermon community in a practical way, you’d love this opportunity.
