Field Trips

The Outdoor Science School program offers a one-of-a-kind learning experiences for all ages. Our outstanding 440-acre campus provides a unique location for a field trip. We offer half day and full day programs. With in each program you are able to choose the content from a list of fantastic excursions!

Public/Private School

Live and Learn the Outdoors at Mount Hermon's Outdoor Science School. Our science school was founded in 1993 by Dr. Rick Oliver. We have impacted over 70,000 students through our experiential education model that uses the California standards as its backbone. The students leave MHOSS with lasting science knowledge and application, new life skills, and invalueable self-confidence. Bring your students to our 5 day or 4 day dynamic programs.

Habitat Restoration

Stewardship is one of our Outdoor Science values. We believe that it is important to model and participate in being a good steward of our resources and our environment. Students that are involved with our Outdoor Science program participate in restoring the sand hills ecosystem located on our campus by pulling invasive species and propogating native species. View our progress and check out our online field guide.

Homeschool

This program is designed with the homeschool family in mind. The entire family is incorporated into all the activities that take place in Outdoor Science School. Cabins are available for rent and each child is placed in an age appropriate trail group for all their science excursions.
