Frequently Asked Questions

What is a Zip Line Canopy Tour?
A zip line canopy tour uses specialized equipment and cables to allow guests to experience the upper reaches of a forest. Each participant wears a harness and uses a pulley system to glide along six interconnected zip lines that stretch between elevated platforms. It is safe, fun, and thrilling!
How many zip lines are there?
You will ride 6 zip lines, cross 2 sky bridges, visit 9 platforms, reach a high point of 150 feet, and be in the redwood canopy for nearly 2 hours.
Are there any restrictions or requirements?
Participants must be in moderate good health at least 52 inches tall and weigh between 75 pounds and 250 pounds. For youth under the age of 14 a parent or legal guardian must accompany them on the tour. You must have the strength to pull yourself along the cable and slow yourself using a gloved hand to apply friction.
If you have had a recent bone or joint injury, are pregnant, or have a heart condition the canopy tour is not for you. For more information see our “readiness assessment” for details.
How do I get there?
From HWY 17 take exit 3 “Mount Hermon Road.” Remain on Mount Hermon Road for 3.5 miles until it “T’s” at “Graham Hill Road.” Turn left on “Graham Hill Road” and take your next left on “Conference Drive.” Continue on “Conference Drive” for ¾ of a mile and look for the check in signs on the right. Maps and additional information are available on our Directions Page.
What should I wear?
Please wear comfortable clothes (please no skirts, dresses, or kilts!) and closed-toe shoes. Long hair will need to tied back. We operate rain or shine so also please come prepared for the season and to be outdoors for two hours. Please remove jewelry and all objects from your pockets.
Can I bring a camera?
Sure! We recommend a small camera with a wrist loop or strap so we can secure it to your harness.
How safe is the tour?
All adventure activities have certain inherent risks. We have taken numerous steps to mitigate inherent risks. Our course was built by Bonsai Designs, Inc. and meets or exceeds the industry standards set by the Association for Challenge Course Technology. Our guides all complete a comprehensive training and certification program. You will also be asked to complete a “ground school” to learn the basics of zip lining prior to going in the air.
Are reservations required?
Yes. Tours are often full days or weeks in advance so reservations are required. Please use our online reservation system.
