CILT: Campers in Leadership Training

CILT is a two-week program of leadership and discipleship training in the context of Christian camping.  During the first week students receive training in counseling skills and leadership while developing their understanding of ministry, deepening their relationship with Jesus and growing in community with peers.  The second week allows students to apply all that they are learning, with hands-on experience partnering with a Redwood or Ponderosa camp counselor in leading a cabin of campers.  Many CILTs continue on to become Mount Hermon summer staff.

CILT...

• is a two-week camping experience
• is held at Redwood Camp or Ponderosa Lodge at Mount Hermon in the Santa Cruz mountains
• provides practical experience in children's ministry and youth ministry
• gives each camper an official training manual for leadership & counseling
• also gives students time for recreation & friendship building
• provides students with a full week of leadership and counseling skills training
• allows campers to co-counsel alongside a Redwood or Ponderosa counselor
